I have been with Pipex ADSL for about 2 years. And as well as beaing pretty cheap it's had great uptime for me. Thinking of shifting up to the 1 meg line once i manage to negotiate an x-box out of my missus.
Pipex also had one of the bext infrastuctures in the country too and have been around for ages.

as someone witth a curious empathy with the original poster i am imagining he is quite keen to find one that doesn't have a year contract. any good ones?

I have used demon, bulldog, telewest and now freedom2surf, Bulldog was the quickest (2mb line for £30 a month, but they fucked me over when the phone contract switched names, demon tried to make me pay for the remainder of a year contract, f2s you can cancel the contract but it costs you £58. check out http://www.adslguide.org.uk/

Blueyonder. Excellent.

Ahh Hooked, good to see you join the fray, 12 month contract can be the hitch, true, I just think there is no outstanding communicator amongst the communication big-shots trying to take our readily-available broadband budget. All their sites are crap. Relying on these kind & experienced users for their testimonials is our better option

ay f'shaw. but from the sound of it- there's not much between them in terms of recommendation. my reckoning is to allow for the cancellation fee as part of the sign on charge.

I would also look into complete packages too. If you want cable TV, then the telewest broadband internet connection is bundled in with their TV package.

Telewest doesn't do our SE5 area, so unfortunately thats OOTQ. Which is a shame MR-T as cable is indeed a possible add-on for us.
Someone needs to position themself as a no-nonsense simple broadband provider, with minimal packaging add-ons and peripherals. Its impossible to tell the difference in what you're getting without implementing detailed comparisons! Arse
