tenchurizer:
Heat?
Are you talking favorite movies? Heat is one of my favorites and I don't really remember anything great about the title sequence that is anything like Seven or others listed. Heat really didn't have much as far as I can remember. I mean, it's all more photographic, and filming, no real effects like Seven, etc.

The opening titles of Fight Club are pretty clever, since they actually fit the context of the film.
Unlike many nice looking opening titles that just ..well...look nice

I also like the opening title to 6 Feet Under.

My favourite would have to be seven, come to think about it, I cant think of any others, but Seven really did stick in my head - may have had something to do with the NIN tune as well

I ment favorite movies in my post, sorry. I saw what you mean now.

Yep, I agree Saul Bass titles never fail to disappoint or Kyle Cooper for that matter, take seven or 1 hour photo for example.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

agree with Mimio - Good Bad Ugly were pure brilliance - nicely sets up the film.
And Catch Me If You Can shudn't be up there, it's a rip of all Saul Bass's work, and he did it best in North By Northwest

Totally wrong. In fact the opening titles which are an "hommage" to Bass' work in North By Northwest are the ones for Panic Room ;) The ones for Catch Me If You Can are excellent, influenced by Saul Bass (and others), yes, but they're no rip-off at all. Almost everyone in the business is influenced by Saul Bass and/or Pablo Ferro (Bullitt, Men In Black)...
