Looking for answers to a simple problem (at least I think so). Working on my company's website, a simple images/tables job.
http://www.hillsideagency.com/
When viewed in different browsers/platforms, the alignment f*cks up and goes really weird.
Where I've noticed problems: IE5 on Mac OS9, IE on PC, Firerfox on OSX, among others.
Major problems seems to be... on the main pages (coloured backgrounds) the main window sits below the centre of the screen, and the folio pages (with the white background) sits at the top of the screen - instead of being centred.
Anyone know what the problem is? Anyone make it to the bottom of this thread before getting bored and looking at something else? If so, well done. And help!!! Please!!!

try to use a 'wrapper' div that contains the whole page.. that usually fixes it for me.

dood, there's very, very little css on your site.. you should really try to fix it with css positioning properties, it should do the job for firefox at least!
good luck!

Now here's the "thing." Both my own and my girlfriends holding pages were originally constructed using tables to position the 2 graphics in the browser window but the same browsers kept f*cking them up. Then I swithced to using CSS and the problem now occurs on IE5 on Mac OSX. No matter what I do, something's always going to look shit on another browser. Could it be to do with Dreamweaver 2004 and it's crappy code writing? Or is it just me being a daft prick?

tried a wrapper div already though?
i usually surf to 'a list apart' and such sites to find out about aliging issues.
i feel your pain though, i actually went back to using tables again here and there cuz i got crazy by mostly IE's ignorance towards CSS.. :/

in fact, come to think of it, even the main pages in Safari are fucked. I'd better look over these again.

OK, saw one obvious problem and "fixed it." Can anyone now tell me why the site appears aligned to the top of the browser instead of the centre?
Nuts, driven... wall, marked.
