now then..
One of my clients wants me to put a huge 2 page A4 disclaimer as the front page to the website.. then the intro.. then the site.
They are adamant.. as they are currently being sued. .. so there's no way around it..
Thoughts? Any other sites you know of that have this as their front page...
nice way to welcome the visitors eh?

what is the site for?

I'm sure you know this already but you could always tell them that a link to a disclaimer on the main page is just as good, legal-wise.

why not recommend them to just puot a big sign on the front page saying "FUCK OFF"
it'll have the same affect.

yeah.. Rasko.. my thoughts exactly.. its not direct client though.. its my old company's client and my old company are giving me the work..
And its a property site.. selling new houses and shite like that..
There's already a link to the disclaimer on the front page below the intro.. but they wanna change it..

do their lawyers stand outside their offices warning people not to slip on the floor or call anyone fat?

they're insane, its a totally negative and damaging thing to do.
but if thats what they want and they wont listen its time to be a yes man and hand them an invoice.

Couldn't you have the disclaimer loaded in the main content area of the site main page (like framed by the real main page design), with a 'Continue' button to remove the disclaimer and reveal the full content? So users already have a taste of the main page on first arrival and will hang around...

apparently they're not budging..
I spoke to the project manager over Messenger.. telling him all these things..And he just says they are being sued right now.. and they are not wanting to take any chances..
Might not sell any houses.. but then at least they won't get sued.. Damn clients..

I think they should be telling you their goals/policy (in very clear, detailed form), not designing the site structure... isnt that your job?
