Just finished the interview and I'm happy with my performance, the questions were much easier than I anticipated and I was much more comfortable than I thought I would be.
Thanks for the help guys!

"What kind of person are you in an office environment?"
- Very tricky question and can mean very different things depending on your answer."How would others describe you as a person?"
"How would others desribe you as a [insert whatever you're interviewed for]?"
-That's also very tricky when they are both asked at the same time because you'll most likely give the same answer."Let's say we've been interviewing 10 people already, explain to me why I should filter out those and hire you right away?"
- Very easy. Tell them that you'll be the best. That's not bragging, that's self-confidence. As an employer I love to hear that. Also, if you're doing freelance on the side and you're looking for a full-time position, never EVER let them think that it'll interfere with your job with them. If they ask "So would you spend your lunchbreak working for your freelance client?" Simply say "NO! If I get this, I'll cut off all bonds" They wanna know you'll dedicate your life to them, they don't wanna share you.
"What are you most proud of?"
Great question IMO. I always ask that when I interview people, that way I see what their values are and how they stand in terms of accomplishments and what they consider average / awesome in their job.

it's a humbling experience to imagine a prospective employer reading one's own pychotic ramblings on NT
- nicora20
...
indeed... how is it that one would delete one's pychotic ramblings?
- nLHb0
ooh ooh! i know! you would just need to turn that thread into a major political thread full of controversy and then QBN deletes it!
- nicora20
*laughs his ass off*
*then considers actually doing it...*

'why are you here?'
'what am i doing here?'
'why does my head hurt?'
'where are my pants?'
'who are you? you don't look at all like my roommate'

"If I touch you, would you would it against me?"
- DutchBoy0
"why can't you just leave?"
- DutchBoy0
"could you please not choke on that key so you can unlock these handcuffs again after the interview?"
- nicora20
Thanks BonSeff, I'll hear from them in a week or 2 she said. They have about 20 positions to fill, so it will take a little time.
I'll develope an ulcer until then, yay!

Hey guys, can you tell me some tough interview questions you've had to deal with....and your responses. Also any interview tips would be helpful. Thanks!
ps this isn't for me, it's for my bf and it's a federal "Software Engineer" position.

Who? Why? When? Where? What?!

Why should we hire you?
What are your long time goals?
Why did you leave your last job?

On the flipside... Make sure you ask your interviewer this.... "What are the most important qualities you're looking for in this position". Make sure you respond confirming that you have those qualities and give examples.
