the bauhaus philosophy (the way of life)is still alive, and is still practiced by a few..
but it isn't what it used to be anymore.

They still have a great program at their school in Weimar. I have a colleague there, they're requested to all kinds of exhibits everywhere.. wich is good to start a career and know the influent peolple in the main.
still top, imo.

actually...
the ateliers are still in use.
when I was there I strolled into one where some people were working. I asked if I could have a look around in my best German (ahem). The guys were american/British working on a animationproject. Really kind fellas. Really cool to see nine silver powermacs lined up in the Bauhaus atelier. The way it works is like this:
the German governement offers the location to artists who want to do something innovative in their field. You need to apply your project to a board of 'cultural proffesors' and they consider if its worth it. If you succeed you may use the location and you get some money from the gov. to do your project.
Coolness!you Peteski. The place I get my handy stuff from is:

it's not just a form of art/design. it's a way of life.
