i've been asked by a new client to write down a profile, from "a web marketing point of view", of the web site i'm going to design for them...i dont know if i really am capable to do something like that and most of all i dont want to look/become one of those prophet/designers so good in talking about communication and all...i know it's part of the job but i really cant stand it...so i was wondering if there was someone who already did something similar in the past so that i could find some ispirations...thanx/ciao!

marketing people sucks ballz... i hate 'em. they're just talentless designers that kiss up to senior managment.

"i dont want to look/become one of those prophet/designers so good in talking about communication and all..."

So what can you stand? You obviously should know what the client is trying to achieve and what methods you are going to use to accomplish that.
But you can't/don't want to talk about it? Kind of a contradiction, don't you think?

If you don't know how to discuss client projects from every aspect possible, I can't really see how the two of you can see eye-to-eye beyond just nodding heads and saying a graphic looks good.

Are you saying you don't know how to do that, or it's boring and you'd just rather be creating the site?

You should really learn how to analyze and do research for a project. That's part of your job. And a pretty biiig part, too. This isn't la la land where you can just draw shapes and write cool things i with a pretty font. I'm not saying you are, I'm just saying you should know what you're doing. And you can't unless you've done major research.

And deeznuts, congratulations - you posted the stupidest thing I've ever read here. Welcome to my ignore list.

as Jox said, you'll need to make som research first. meet the client and write the points and basis of what he wants to transmit through his website / product/service/company...

    it's a tough task.

i knew in the first place this was going to start an endless discussion...my point is that sometime makes no sense to discuss about web publishing with people that only appreciate what they see in the last Weird issue and at the end ask you only to increase more and more their company logo...it makes me feel sick, and if i wouldnt, i rather move on, and since i cant afford to refuse these jobs i just have to swallow...said that, does anyone have written something like that in the past?
