what songs would epitomize the 70's and 80's???
How about the 90's and 00's???

Depends what part of the world you are standing in. Early 90's, london. Hardcore, ACID, DnB. Go to the US though and you had metallica and Gun's and Roses.
Who is your target audience?

It's in the US and the audience will probably be old white businessmen...

The tap into their heads, dude! See if you can find radio station playlists, billboard archives, whatever, find out what was selling when in your target demographic and you are there. See if you can find a radio DJ who has been in the game a long time to talk to. Research research research, all the data you need is out there. I could tell you my musical memories of those times, but it's gonna be a crapload different to what your audience remembers. Good luck dude!

difficult. too many songs to pick from but today the best song ever for me for the eighties has to be iron maiden's run to the hills. anyways tomorrow it'll prolly be vanilla ice with ice ice baby. or is that 90's?
