Does anyone here (in a company) use their website/intranet to transmit proofs to clients, or manage work flow etc...? Do you provide any kind of on-line service to clients?
I've been asked to develop our intranet, to basically do something useful with it. Any tips?

I used to work somewhere that used this system they had developed called 'studioflow' where you would login and then choose the project and then the item and the recipients would be emailed notification, everything would all be logged and signed off that way.
It was a total fucking nightmare and we stopped using it. Abosolute shite and totally open to communication breakdown.. not to say it couldn't work, just that this one was lameass.

yeah... I'll like to get proofs transmitted via http because I'm sick of shouting at people for sending 10Mb emails and slowing shit down...

we have one, it has a time recording system for contractors, we also have a section with unused design pitches that we can show potential clients, and we also have an online creative brief that a potential client can fill in, and a hiden mp3 server and a site with all the joke email we get, videos and what not

Yeah we have one too, where everyone in the office is connected to. Basically it's just a platform to access templates, documents and client databases, but includes another section where clients can check out their stuff, give comments on smaller thigns etc. Nothing too complicated.
