In a letter posted on his Web site Wednesday, Moore said, "Yesterday I was told that Disney, the studio that owns Miramax, has officially decided to prohibit our producer, Miramax, from distributing my new film, 'Fahrenheit 9/11.'
"The reason? According to today's edition of The New York Times, it might 'endanger' millions of dollars of tax breaks Disney receives from the state of Florida because the film will 'anger' the governor of Florida, Jeb Bush."

Obviously, Disney sucks Satan's balls, but let's point the finger at Satan's balls. (The Bush Family)

do you think that anything you read in the mainstream media, anything you watch on television or anything you see at the movies or anywhere full stop is not by simply the way of the given framework of consumerist society a direct complimentary part of that system in order to sustain itself and keep dissenters at bay and the masses unable to think out of the boundaries.
You have to question your entire history before you can think freely.

while i agree we need a paradigm shift, it's important to reach the majority of people who function on a media-controlled emotional level.
- loudubs0
and also, it could be a dangerous thing...as we saw in the case of the "Passion" where a distortion of the truth was passed off to the average American who may or may not understand that movies and documentaries are all 'constructed' efforts.
- rasko40
exactly, unfortunately its practically impossible to reach masses through the bracken of the networks because genuine news/documentary/political discourse is at odds to their ulterior motives of profit and power.

Big Business, no surprise.
He will get his movie out, however the only problem is Mr.Moores movies often preach to the choir. Actually there are parts of his films that bend the truth pretty hard, perhaps if he toned it down it would get a broader more receptive market. We can’t use Fox news tactics against them, they will always win when we fight them using there rules.
Anyways, ENUFF OF ME!

isn't it a problem that the gap between main stream media and independent media is too big? since main stream media is owned and controlled by just a handfull of companies who are tied to politicians, lobbies and other big corporations etc? you know he who controls the media controls the masses.
- rasko40
these are the kind of brainwashed idiots that would put themselves and the rest of you americans in jail if authority told them it was part of the 'war against terror'.

I haven't read all the responses so I don't know if this has already been said, but if Disney wanted to keep away from this movie for political reasons, they just did the one thing to ensure that more people will see the movie by giving it LOADS of free press.

We know.

"You have to question your entire history before you can think freely"
Well put rasko, which is why it is impossible to present truth to the masses. It will always be a question of propaganda from the Left or the Right (in this case) - which isn't specifically a battle against corporations for control of truth - but simply submitting a different form of propaganda. The Media, in all its interstice, is a corporate body, and therefore inherently Right wing - it will therefore always face contradictions in distributing leftw-wing, self-destructive messages.
I dont know if this means Michael Moore and his ilke, need geniunely post-capitalist methods of distribution - or that it is simply harder for him to get his message through existing channels, and he'll just have to deal with it.
- rasko40
well exactly, there is no left wing these days anyway, other than a superficial version to appease the voting masses into thinking that they are given a choice when infact the goals are in fact much the same. Green consumerism, and environmentalism etc are other branches of this false democracy.
