can depend on the level you do your mp3's at

no probs. I thought it was interesting what they say about the sound quality of the iPod. I don't have one but i've listened to one and it sounded great to me.

Thanks for that link SF2. I had been considering the iRiver-iHP 120 and found a place selling it for about 360.
Lots of sites have rated it #1 over the iPod with the only complaint being cost.

Never ever buy anything on the spur of the moment... you may just enjoy yourself.

Does anyone own one of the iPod alternatives?

never, ever buy the first series of a newly launched product. they always have problems..
wait for the next series when all bugs/errors etc. are fixed.

no love for the mini-iPod? haha, i am getting a pink-mini in the upcoming weeks. for people with windows when synching and what not, does it change the last modified date of your mp3 files by any chance?
i'm hoping not. but i've used iTunes once and it did...
- JamesEngage0
I only got a bigger one so i could sample my mp3's at a higher rate and use my good headphones on it... the reason you get those ropey apple ones is that it disguises how bad an mp3 can sound

use my iPod on PC - no problems ever

Is anyone using their iPod with a PC? I'm reading some of the reviews on cnet and some people are reporting issues with syncing on PC's.
I can go buy one today. Just not sure. I am saving to do what Jevad did and get the 12"....which actually, I'm going to use my friends school discount and get a piping hot kick ass 14" for 1600. w00t!
decisions decisions.
so yeah, performance of iPod on PC. anyone? anyone?

i bought the 15 a month ago. I only have 4 gigs of stuff on there at the moment, and it still takes me 20 mins to decide what to spin?! slapped some sony studio phones on there and it is glorious! wait a year then I'll purchase the 150gig.

i think ive made the decsion on getting the 20. i figure 20 doesnt cost as much and its still a lot of music storage. plus i can use the extra cash for something useful like FOOD until next pay day!

I was one of the first and bought an 5 Gb Ipod. Then a month later the 10 Gb Ipod came. And after that the 20 and 40 Gb. Man I wish I had a 40 Gb because my 5 is full. Still thinking of buying the 40 Gb...
