possible on a MAC w/ itunes? and still keep the original AAC?
- JazX0
god, there are so many apps that do so many things in terms of conversions. I would check at http://www.downloads.com to find out about it. I've never worked with .AAC's. What the heck do you mean keep the original AAC? I mean of course, it's not going to kill it when you convert, it's just going to spit out an .mp3.

BOM! http://download.com.com/3000-214… look at what a little research does fer ya. ;)

actually that might not do it know that I DL it. Hmmm, you should have some app on your Mac that does it, but to me it looks as if it can be converted.

Thanks JazX, I will look around those downloads. I just meant not neccesarily convert from ACC, but make an mp3 from it and still preserve the original too.
Thanks

ahh IC, ohh yeah totally, you'll never lose what you are trying to convert bro. At least, you shouldn't and if that happens I would check your system settings, etc. :)

itunes is all you need man

I think you can just burn 'em to a CD and then rip 'em as mp3's... so I've heard.

in iTunes, make sure you setting are set at MP3 and not at AAC. go to your library, select the song, go to "ADVANCED" in iTunes and select "convert to MP3"
It'll make a copy of the song, so you'll have 2 of them. if your not sure which one is the MP3, just do an open apple+I and it'll say it.

Maxwin,
All my music is imported as aac, i go into ADVANCED and the only option in "convert to aac" not, mp3. wtf?
- Maxwin0
In your preferences, under the 'importing' tab, it'll say 'import using:' then a drop down menu. change that to MP3 instead of AAC. then when you have the song(s) selected, click advanced then it should say 'convert to MP3.'

What's interesting is how Apple didn't really make it all that hard to get around The RIAA's evil wishes for digital rights.
