is it possible to do this?

there are a number of applications that allow you to do so. one of them being the industry standard for sound editing and maximization: Sound Forge 7.0, now by Sony Media. http://www.soundforge.com - unless of course you need to do it for a Mac, then I would check out something like Logic or Pro Tools. But as of late, Soundtrack and Garageband have made strides in their editing capabilities. However, if your doing .wma to .mp3 it sounds as if you're on a PC. :)
