Thanks for the suggestions. I'm almost done with my proposal, which took me all day including the research. I didn't consider offering maintainence as an option, but I will.

...and I suppose I should bill them for the hours spent researching how to make his page list higher in search engine results?
I don't want to overcharge this guy because I'm going to do his wife's site next and I live in the same building as them.

Make sure you bill those dirty lawyers for every second you work, talk on the phone, etc.

There's a program called web postion gold which is great for page listing higher in search engines. It is a bit of money but you can use it towards others clients as well and charge them a small monthly fee to keep their page listing up there.

Just so you know getting a high page rank isn't a one time thing.
It takes lots and lots of constant attention to keep it up there.
Especially in a saturated market like law firms.

talk about a maintenance contract, that way he doesn't have to update, you can.
