i'm desperate looking fore a (simple, dhtml, crossbrowser?) script to create a footer that is allways visible on the bottom of a window, even when there is so much content that you have to scroll down to view the content.
any help would be greatly
appreciated.

about a week ago this q was posed here as well.
tis simple:
make a div with a CSS id that is positioned 'absolute' and only fill out 'bottom 0px' .. i believed that worked. (not checked all platforms..)

i really wish it was that simple DBoy.
your link: in IE5 on mac i can't see anything, but NS7 mac looks okay.

you may think that i'm looking for something what is in that article.
but it isn't.i made this already:

it works "ok" on my mac, but on pc it keeps scrolling and scrolling forever, isn't it?
it isn't perfect at all.so, looking for an easy way to do this...

still scrolls forever on PC IE6 ...
i know this is hard one, i've messed with it myself, and had no luck on IE 5MAC
have you considered using javascript to position the layer ?
- stewart0
ehr... no versa.
can you point me towards something like that?
- versa0
check this page and pick some of these apart...
- stewart0
thanks versa.
i thought i had used that scripts already...

works well on IE6 PC if you are trying to get the motion to end at your designated "bottom" div
looks smoother
is that from a DD script
- stewart0
don't know exactly what you want to say in the last post...
...but i used this dd http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dyna… indeed.
and now i need a second layer on the right bottom.
i think i have to work the whole night now.

shit man, i'm sorry, i just was trying to help

i once made this example too, but that is tested on Safari only as well..and is only to use as a background img at the bottom:

i think it sucks how other browsers can be so difficult with nice CSS that actually makes sense. The rubbish we have to code these days (esp. for IE/PC) to get simple things to work is quite irritating at times.
I, for instance, usually avoid js like the plague whenever I can (maybe only for looks/dynamics but not for real functionality), as it does make the whole site a tidbit less usable..

ok. so this works in all browsers y'all use?
