Hey, why would a site not work without a WWW in front of it? Lets say I have 2 sites and one connects without the WWW and one just doesnt? It is a port thing? Like if one site has a SQL database and the other doesnt? Enlighten me o' wise NT.
Thanks.

are both sites sitting on the same server?

one is on our corp. server and the one that wont resolve without the 'www' is on interland in Atlanta.
which is a shitty hosting provider btw.

It has to do with a setting on the server side - you could contact your host and tell them to hook it up.

fyi, macs dont require www or .com for a url to go through. u on mac or pc?

ummm the www thing has everything to do with dns
www is a cname record (i think?). if the place that does the dns for your websites do not have www setup as a cname record on your domain, it won't resolve.
it works the other way too, where a www.website.com will work but http://website.com will not work.

it is a DNS issue,
most of the time www.newstoday.com is actually an alias to newstoday.combut if you want www.newstoday.com could be Site A. and newstoday.com could be Site B. which is completely different.
but because most people dont understand that and if you tried to pass out your URL as newstoday.com there is a 90% chance that someone will add www. to the beginning just because they dont know any-better and everything they know about the web says that WWW. MUST exist.
this is a HUGE irritation of mine especially when having people view a test site that is say at beta.whatever.com
they always want to type in www.beta.whatever.com
or www.10.0.1.200 when going to an IP address.
so annoying
but anyways to fix your issue just add an alias or CNAME to point to your host domain
