CBS is a business right? A business has the right to refuse service to whoever they want? Or am I crazy? Isn't that their freedom of speech?
- GreedoLives0
Yeah, but aren't there different rules in play since they are a national network and they're getting their airwaves for free from the FCC? They're providing a community service.

I think you have to give equal time to "both sides" in some cases but I don't think it applies to time "companies" are buying.
I think.

Agreed. But it's still alarming, considering how consolidated most media outlets are nowadays. A handful of old white guys can drown out opposing viewpoints.

I think you can point at each network and say they are for or against someone. If your only source for news is tv..yikes!!!!
G>L> I agree . Monopoly! yes.

CBS doesn't get its airtime for free. and i believe you're thinking of public television with the whole equal time thing.
- thinkmule0
yeah...i think you are right, vena.
thnx.
- thinkmule0
actually that is what I meant..btw.

Nah...networks have to follow the equal time rule as well, for ads/programs showing a viewpoint.
That's why it was sketchy for Arnold Schwazenegger to be on Leno. But it worked out cause he was not yet a "candidate".
