Hi, I have a conundrum, I can't find what RAM I need, cos I don't know what PC I have! Got it 2nd hand, I think it's and AMD in a 'Goldenfield' case, so nothing written on the outside. Do I need to open this mother up or what?? Surely there's a way to find out.
When I boot the maching I get 'American Megatrends Amibios 2000' is that it?
By the way AMD doesn't come up in the list on crucial.com, what am I doing wrong?
Apologies for being a bimbo

right click on "my computer" icon and select properties.
in the window that appears it should tell you what processor speed and how much ram you have
i think thats for 98, ME, 2K and XP but could be wrong

The easiest way to find out would be through the motherboard. If they know make/model they can tell what kind of memory that would fit on it.
The control panel doesn't always tell right, so the best bet would be to open up and read on it.
