Love the icon based navigation, not so hot on the 45 degree lines, but that is just a preference. Only thing I would say you should do is increase your frame rate. The transitions one the portfolio section seem a bit slow.

James, also maybe add some css to the form? I think it could look better, all in all I love it. Clean and simple.

Safari / 10.2.6:
your iframes for portfolio and resume have target="_blank" instead of target="whatever that main space on your index.html is"

whys everything in a pop up window?

nic work!
clean...simple...easy

Safari / 10.3.2
Same thing that elwolverton said. All your links open up in different windows.
The background is kind of distracting, a little rough on the eyes. I like the icon based navigation with the changing colors.
Looks strong.

why the iframe? same effect can be generated for a lot less space and bandwidth if you used css and xhtml for the site build.
also, the transitions were extremely slow for me.
the layout and design is great. technically, though, the site could use some tightening up.
looks good.

hmm....i guess i need to test my site on across other platform browsers. I am testing on pc IE 5.0. What are you guys using? It shouldnt pop up different windows, at least not on my end. I'll have to fix up that coding then. As for the 45 degree lines, i tried to make them not too dominant, but not too plain.
All in all, thanks for all the crits...keep them rollin!

true, my site coding is very loose. I just kinda tossed it together in a few days. about the xhtml, do you have any links for references, i've personally never seen that tech yet.
also, are iFrames good or bad for most people?
The transition between images is 4 seconds. 3 seconds was a bit too fast for people to look at each piece. I guess the feedback statistics will help to figure if it should be faster, slower, or kept the same.

thanks elwolveron for noticing the issue with the pop ups, i'll fix that asap.

I think iframes are fine - but sparker does make a good point.

pc ie 5.0 is a generally crappy browser.
test in current browsers, then after you have it working the way you want it to, go back and test in older browsers. fix the problems that you think are important to the impact of the site for older browsers and then re-test, re-test, re-test.
most users are running more current browsers, now.
as for me, xp/mozilla 1.5 (work) and gentoo linux/mozilla 1.5 (home).
i didn't get the pop-up problem, but "target" is deprecated in xhtml. i believe it still works in html 4.0. though.
the proper doctype might fix the problem. which version of html did you write the markup in?
- sparker0
and, remember; no matter what you do, the site will not render the same in all browsers. it is just a fact of the technology.
mozilla will look different than ie which looks different than safari which looks different than opera and so on.
once you accept this and design for standards instead of browsers, things will be better.
:)

hmm...this is odd, the only _blank targets i have on my site are for the ie and netscape updates (if you're browser doesn't support iFrames), and my PDF resume (which isnt available yet). Other than that, everything 'looks' like its pointed to the right window. For those of you guys who are having everythign pop up to new windows, can you let me know what OS and browser you are using? It may be a browser issue i have to fix. I'm still unsure about that.

i coded using dw 2004. I'm actually using IE 6.0, but the coding generally should work for IE 5.0+. You're right, i shouldn't worry about the non-standard browsers. I just hope that my issue isn't on other standard browsers.
Man, i really appreciate everyone's help on this fosho! Mucho Thanks!
- sparker0
actually, things that work in current browsers most likely not translate back to ie 5.0. that is one of the worst browsers ie produced.
- jimeeboy510
can i get a little help here? I cannot figure out why my iframes are doing pop ups on mac browsers. i'm coding in dw on a pc and cant do a cross platform check. If anyone has time please help. Thanks.

this isn't about the iframe problem, but i do notice these obvious warnings and errors with the css.
1. using underscores is not a good idea with css. not all browsers interpret them correctly for attribute values.
2. you can place everything in an external stylesheet. no reason to include both inline and external.
3. scrollbar css is a proprietary invention of microsoft. they will *not* work in alternative browsers. it isn't valid css.
4. you should use semantic markup. you have a class called .Heading, when you could easily use h1 and style it accordingly.
5. LoVe HA! meaning Link Visitied Hover Active - some browsers only interpret these psuedo-classes in that order.
as for your markup, you are using quite a lot of useless tags and elements. most of which can be handled safely via css. also, and i don't know if this is the root to the problem or not, but you're using table headers in place of cells.
if you are going to use a table you should construct it in it's simplest, most usable way possible.
