what ever happened to being excited about design? what happened to coming home from work and jumping right back on the computer to work on my personal stuff? what ever happened to being inspired by a handful of designers that were doing some really interesting work 3-5 years ago? where did my favorite web designers go? what happened to design process in the work place? what happened to our brainstorms, focus groups and research? wow... this is getting long. Thanks for letting me vent..... great topic. :)

Yoshi, as far as I'm concerned, that you referred, still exists. but not to many publicity around, I guess. I know a friend of mine who's beeing invited to travel around just to be apart of brainstormings and research reunions together with other guys around the globe for new brands, trademarks and events.
(specially in ~Europe) as for the design in the community, We still see a lot of talented people coming out, as we'll see in the future. it's up to every designer to be developing personal work inspired by others, that's healthy and contributes for the spread of new concepts and languages coming out from every single undeground main or public mainstream.

I hear ya kodap, I guess I'm just not as passionate about what I'm seeing these days. I just remember getting excited about when a select few redesigned their site, or just added some new work. Now, I can't remember the last time I was excited about something online. Maybe I'm just not spending enough time browsing these days. Why don't we start a new thread: Name your top three designers/sites that you feel are truly doing some innovative and inspiring work online.
