on a related note: i do like the colors and layout.
:)
and, engage, it is true...if you write clean, semantic and valid markup then the file size is smaller, and that reduces bandwidth.
pick up zeldmans new book for one reference on this. there are plenty of resources online that support it as well.
i agree with engage, if you are going to use flash, use it to its full extent.
you could still retain those motion headers (swooshing) in a valid xhtml site. you can use flash for them too if you want...i would, but the whole site doesn't have anything in it that makes flash a better choice.
i do like the site, though. very clean, very well laid out.

thanks sparker.
It sound like you're talking about the whole site made in flash? Are you? It's just the menu. What would I benefit from doing the nav in xhtml but still have animations in flash?

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obido… this book?

yea. i thought the whole site was in flash. oh, well, then i really have no complaint. i didn't right click to find out.
yea, the menu could be just xhtml along with the rest of the site, and just use flash were you need it.
the transitions for each section (when you click on the menu item) seems to refresh the page anyway...so, i would make the header flash and thats all (other than things like the 'intro' etc).
i just thought the whole thing was flash.

Funny - i got a link on that amazon page to a swedish web agency. "Cheap, quick and professional". For those of us who are too lazy to read the book?
