HI all
Just found this great "Job Opportunity at a highly established agency"... and this is what they say:
The Creative Division are searching for an adept, creative, middleweight designer. If you think you are the right person
contact........So ok... this is a strange one in my eyes.. ussually they say send your cv and some sample's of your work. But not this. What do I do, tell them my life storey? say in250 words why iam the man for the job?
I dont know how to go about writeing this email.. ITs a BIG firm, think i got a good chance but dont want to screw up the email . What do I do? write?..

they'll probably ask to see your work when you get an interview..
- rasko40
send them a short, witty, confident email that people will warm to and roughly explains your experience.
Then just invite yourself over.
- Bluejam0
design yourself one of these...

...and send it to 'em.
(in a similiar vein to what Rasko said)

should I attach my cv to the email you think?
- JazX0
tell them how you can help them, plan and simple and how your skills do that.
- mitsu0
mail them some fruitcake or a ticking clock.
- JazX0
yeah ticking clocks always work well. hahahahahaa
- Bullitt0
could acttually be somthing in that.. wonder if I could get an mp3 of a clock ticking to active when the email is opened
- mitsu0
actually, a brief letter highlighting your skillsets and work experience with information on how to see your work online as well as your contact info would be a good start.
- Bullitt0
thanks bro's!
I'l be writein me one of them brief confident warm letter things I think with a bit of the old skillsets highlighted in, and with a ticking clock effect in the background

Still have'nt emailed them yet. Dont know how to go about this.. should I design somthing related to their company.. Do you think a simple email in plain words could get me an interview? DO I need more? Should I design the email in flash? or is bringing a visual design into this email to much?
- rasko40
your thinking too much, you'll look desperate..
- Bullitt0
Raski, So you say plain simple English?
- Bullitt0
: I mean I should just write an email and forget about any visual stuff?
- rasko40
well yeah, you could perhaps also attach a couple of samples of your work thats relevant but really just best to get it in there rather than sitting around for a week.
- Derek20
i dunno about the ticking clock thing..

if you sent me flash via email I'd trash it immediately.
if you sent me mp3's of ticking clocks via email I'd hunt you down and kill you.
- Bullitt0
forget about the ticking clock..
- Bullitt0
Il just send an email. Might attached a few samples of my work also... Not sure if I should attach the CV though. It's a pretty good track record, but if there not asking for it then I might not bother.

sent it last night, was just a letter in the end. Best bit of soul selling Iv'e ever done. Hope it will get me the interview.
