I loves me some eye candy. So I'm wondering how the "dissolve in" effect of the G5 is accomplished on this site:
Thanks!

And yes I know it's After Effects, but plugins, techniques etc I am ignorant of.

probably with After Effects or from something from possibly Avid http://www.avid.com maybe Soft Image? Or it could be some advanced Flash itself.

there are plenty of AE 5.5 and 6.0 plug-in's out there, just use Google and mess with them, that's your best bet, but yeah it's nice to get opinions. Not trying to be a smart-ass. :)

I mean they might have combined a bit of a tweaked out, compressed the hell out out of .mov file in there too. Myabe compressed with Sorenson Squeeze or something.

Thanks JazX, you're good peoples all the way around. NewsToday is really important to me as a source for knowledgable and talented individuals

it almost looks like Shine or a blur with feathered masks

from what I know of AE, you should be able to do that with their standard suite of FX. :)

Ah, then I shall be playing 'round tonight. Thanks.

If anyone's interested, here's what the creator said:
" it was in after effects using motion blur and one of the distort plugins, cant remember which one, but they all do a similar morphing effect. If you love eye candy, you gotta get AE - jaybirch"

and one last update. This is my result after about 30 minutes of playing around :D

Nothing fancy, distort mesh, gaussian, and upped the contrast. I quite like the effect and it's simple too.
