Hey, does anyone out there have any idea of the symbolism of joining one's hand and interlocking one's fingers during prayer?
Why is it done? What, if any, is the history behind the action? Any ideas?
I'm writing a paper on symbolism, symbols and design and can't seem to find any good information on this....
Thanks in advance.

Is it that you're about to win England the Rugby World Cup?

I think it's to keep figitty kids from distracting themselves during a prayer in church, or anywhere else really.

I think clasping hands is a begging, pleading gesture that was adopted into prayer.
