Hi NT,
I have a quick question regarding form filed focus in Macromedia Flash. I currently have a script that tells my flash app to make the first field active but it doesn't work unless the flash player is clicked....this is when the html file that holds the swf is opened. Is there any 3rd party tool, that will make the flash player the active program so that I can make the field have its blinker on when the html page is opened? Thanks.

I'm confused what you mean? Do you want to rely on JS?

i think he just wants it to be the first active field with the cursor in the field blinking -- so all the user has to do is start typing when the page loads.
... am I right?
if so --- i don't have an answer for you... but am curious to find that solution myself.

Hi Jax,
No Javascript was causing problems with Flash's fields, so that out of the question. I tryed using that jscipt that makes the window always the one active. What I need is to make the flash player active. I know that all that is needed is for the flash player area to be clicked on for it to be the active one. I'm talking about the flash player app inside of the html page...not the html page to be focused. I was wondering if you knew anything that I could do so that the flash player is the active app without having to click on it.....hope that makes sense.

in the object tage i.e. make sure 'name' and 'id' are 'mySwf' then put this after the closing boject tag

poo, it wont let me post the tags. basically, you then need to put this in javascript tags after the oobject tag
mySwf.focus();

ok, that was terrible. get me on email and i'll post the code.
