i don't have time for any real freelance gigs working full time and commuting two hours a day... i'm lucky to be able to work on my skate site! if i ever took up the design/develop biz as a home business i would just go get a business loan and get all up to code. hopefully by the time the upgrades came out i'd be able to afford it.

I do freelance with it also... sorry to dissappoint but that how it iz.

word, that's what i was talking about in the beginning - backbone. admitting it instead of trying to pull a ham hocked moral manipulation into making yourself feel better about doing it without having to admit it :)

you can write off business expenses on your taxes.
it is cost effective to purchase your shit.
:)
plus, if you ever get audited you don't get ass raped.
the chief isp in columbia was audited and had to pony up 90k per instance of illegal microsoft software.
it nearly killed their business.
and, their just a small isp. it's not like they were a multi-national corporation or anything...

i say, if you want to use pirated software, then crack it yourself.
if you're going to do it, don't just download the app, a crack or serial and use it...
break out that decompiler and hex editor and get to work.

same ole, same ole.
:)
so anyway, i want to learn how to do cell shading in a game. i love realistic rendering...but there is something cool about well done cell shading.
:)
too bad the few games to come out with it don't live up to expectations.

sparker,
cel-shading is best done with Cg, but you can get fairly decent looking effects with plain on polygons.
Here's an OpenGL tutorial on cel-shading
http://nehe.gamedev.net/data/les…I wrote a little cel-shader renderer for OGRE, but since they're just now starting to incorporate Cg into the renderers, im stopping work on that and waiting to do it in Cg.

that whole site actually, is an indispensable resource for learning OpenGL.
That single site and a n openGL book was how i learned it.
