  Yay! my powerbook just died on me right after I installed OSX.

  It just gives me a blank black screen.. can still see the arrow tho. Anybody knows how to proceed in such a situation?

  Reinstall... if you cant even start from the CD, you can use the command line disk utility and stuff like that...

  (Cmd-S on startup and use fsck)

  no need to uninstall... go to the install program... it has 3 choices... two of them are clean install.

  I did the full super format that takes about two hours once....

  fixed lots of problems on an old ibook.....

  I usually ask firstly for hardware/software near contacts, so they can come in and repair it with me...
