well we have been discussing lately about working dual monitors and it is approved that working with dual is a must.
so here comes my second question on this issue, what is your ideal monitor size ? I have 19" g420 at home and never too crazy about a 21" g520.
Don't you think 21 is a little bit overweight for a designer ?(not mentioning the wide screen macs) and also doesn't it has some proportion problems vice versa, a little hard to optimize ?
I see 19 is ideal for designing
and I really look for your comments.oz.

you have to think of it as an investment, its almost like having dual monitors @ 1280x1024

1920x1200
droool, ughhh...
imagine duals of those
drool, ughhh...

of course if I were in US I would definitely go for it, but it is 2300 bucks here so I cannot afford it :(
so what other thoughts ?

I have heard that sony g520's has little blurry at the sides, how come ?
isn't this the typical problems of 21 and upper monitors ?

2x19" Samsung 900NF or
2x19" Nec FP912SBperfect working environment, not too big, smaller depth and perfect image, not too mention totally inexpensive (both cost like $500).

i gots a 19" and a 20" at work. dual. I love it. cept my card shit the bed and i'm getting some horrible shaking.
anyone know how to remedy that, like guarenteed?!

it is true that you loose a little bit of the clarity after you go 21 and up, but its a comprimise. peronally i prefer larger monitors. i just got this 22 for 600 bucks even. (no tax, no shipping) its not as clear as my 19 sitting next to it, but im happy with the combination.

Two 19"side by side - perfect for me.
If you can get compact CRTs even better. LCDs are too wack with color accuracy.

whatever makes you happy man, whatever you have money for, give or take. 21" are nice, but you can go with two flat screen like I do and then drag things from one screen to another in your properties setting on your DT.

I dunno about colour accuracy and the flat panel, I get awesome print results off my 17 powerbook.
and the girl gets awesome print and pantones off her PC and 19 inch FP samsung.
CRT's are nice too, but seriously once you go digital you can leave LOTS of that calibration headache behind

I guess my main point on the CRT accuracy is with on-screen work. 80% of your audience is not using LCD - so for the sake of making a project for screen (web/cd/etc) you're going to see closer to what the general public is seeing by using what they're using.
I worked in an office with 12 LCDs and they were all off by a long shot to what the user testers saw on their home PCs.
