in the last couple of months, I really began to think that 2 monitors is essential for a designer. it really makes you faster designing and some other stuff.
what is your thoughts?

not essential, but oh so wonderful. You do work much faster. If providing you don't use one permantly for NT.

It rocks. Especially for flash.

Having 2 monitors doesn't help you design any faster, neither does having a faster computer.

i've had two monitors for a few years now, and i find it a real pain in the ass to have to work on one. it helps give you more design real estate and space for palettes etc.

it is, as with most things a luxury. I work primarily off a powerbook, when I am near another monitor I do plug it in, and it is nice to have the extra real estate to keep things out of the way and apps side by side.....
I was however one year ago working off an ibook, and I was doing just fine with that....its all about how you work, you will mame the needed arrangements to suit either.

22 + 19 at home
21 + 17 at workOnce you start you will never be able to go back.
Working on one monitor now is like looking through the porthole window of a ship.

we just got a G5 in at work. can anyone educate me in setting up dual monitors? do I need a new card or adapter?
- ER0
you need this little white box with a cord.
stupid if you ask me. they should have put a second port on the machine or on the back of the displays.
