i'm not a hardcore strokes fan. and i was listening to them when they started to play at brownies in nyc. a friend of mine saw them and told me about em. some of you think you are omniscient and you are far from. too many of you are "half-empty" and not "half-full". check yoself before you riggity-wreck yoself.

"I'd rather gargle vomit then listen to springsteen. "
Gorbie, that's just about the most vividly disgusting image I've ever had in my mind.
You have ruined my day.
:D

Can't stand Bruce Springsteen for one simple reason:
He used September 11th as the catalyst for his comeback.
Sorry, but I have issues with that. To me it says that he had not had an album come out in years, and along comes the most horrific tragedy in US history, and he takes advantage of it to write an album "inspired" by that horrible day.
There's just something incredibly wrong about that. He obviously didn't have the abilitiy to even write new music because what music he does is for 80s burnouts. So he latches on to that tragedy to sell sell sell.
Give me break Bruce...

this thread is stupid

if bruce is the boss, I quit.

I can listen to Darkness on the Edge of Town forever. And gargle vomit.
I do agree, The Big Man is a Big Joke.
Bruce has worn out his welcome (since 1983 really) 'but he could play a guitar like ringing a bell'.
The Strokes on the other hand ...

Sorry, I have to stand by my Springsteen bashing. He's always credited as being such a great songwriter, but all I ever heard back in his heyday was songs about sex in the back seat of a Cadillac in his beloved New Jersey...and Clarence is an awful sax player. Go to any subway station and find someone 3 x as talented.

I only like techno music.
thats a joke. strokes are good, white stripes are ok. that line about "before mags" was funny.
- peteski0
the hype was NOT the same back then cause they weren't using hendrix to sell you soda ..
the pink negroes (real band)
I saw hardcore, at the start, when it was called oi! - it was just as stupid then.
