I don;t think the US/UK humor differences help too much either.
Like I know when Kez or Engage or Rasko etc are taking the piss...Americans probably don't - because it's an entirely different sense of humour.
We are all only humans after all...

yea that humo(u)r difference is pretty important.
so what are the main differences between UK/US humour? I've noticed sarcasm&irony don't go down too well after 1pm GMT. Does that mean it's more acceptable to be mean in the UK?

I cleaned up my act 9936 posts ago, but your right. :)

Perhaps it coz they thing 'drive by's' are just their kind of sarcasm?.. diff'rent strokes etc.
- rasko40
not only more acceptable but its part of the culture and our God given right for living in such a lame weather country.
Stems from the school system I say.

I think it's much more than a difference in humour.
thats just a small aspect of the problem.

i learned a long time ago not to let anything on here affect my "real" life... a good fight is entertaining every now and then.

But tell me this, what sort of PV-AN would this be if threads lasted only as long as it just took to help someone (lets say 4-10 posts average), the banter is what we come back for day in day out, this is an extension of our personalities, it is in some way an expression of the way we would like to be seen, I mean I enjoy laughing at the little quips from you all. ;)
- jevad0
ah yes - the banter is fine - a lot of damn good banter and topical issues are raised from banter and 'crit this' threads...
the point is - more often than not it strays from banter to outright near hooliganism, namecalling, insults etc...
Point in case the bloody microsoft paperclip thread - that's the useless kind of pap we need to avoid - channel energies elsewhere and just respect each other and respect the people that don't really post here too often and are just here looking for a bit of help and advice from people they think may be able to help them.
out.
