I've been hacking on b&w white photography for a little over a year now. Mainly, I've been processing the film and scanning the negative into my computer. I've got an enlarger too, but I only print the stuff I really like because of time and cost.
Anyway, I've been doing all this without a good understanding of the photography and darkroom techniques. I've been pretty happy with the results, but I'd like to get a better foundation and have better control, and not rely on luck, so much.
When I was buying chems yesterday, a young lady suggested I pick up a book by a guy named Henry Horenstein ( http://www.horenstein.com/index.… ) which I've ordered.
Are there any other texts that anyone can suggest? Beginner level.
TIA

check out a community college and take a class. look for extension classes, they offer good courses at resonable prices, usually at night.

Yeah, take a community college class or an adult ed class to learn technique.
Henry rocks, by the way. He's a good friend of mine and an amazing photographer. Check out his new book: http://honkytonkbook.com/
