I am taking my brother to New York city to look at design schools. I have never been to the city before.
I am intersted in finding contacts that are designers that can hang out with us and show us around and or fill us in on any cool design related events or helful information on things we can do.

that's a pretty big question, there are a lot of thread on NYC that might help you. Search out the DB here. There are lots of things on school and museums and living prices and such. There are definitely some things you should think about before coming to NYC. I lived there give or take 6 years and had all sorts of good and bad experiences. NT rocks! :)
