hey guys...i'm about to go on a fuckin rampage from coding html.
I have one main table, the bg is white...its for a sales letter. now I dont want to place all the text inside another table.....
so I use this tag:
its SUPPOSED to give you some sort of margin.....right?
yes, its a fuckin pain in my ass. on my mac it looks perfect, in IE, safari and chimera.
Now...on the PC, it looks ALL FUCKED UP!
can someone please help me?

don't laugh. yeah its not anything super slick or kick ass but its something thats gonna help me make some cash.
i can fix this by nesting a table with all the copy inside of it, but fuck. someone else was able to layout a site using that, and i need to figure it out.

tomkat...LOL
i'm still confused about everything after the KILL BILL movie.
I STILL don't get it.

just checked it on a pc and in netsape 4.6 it looks fine, however in Ie 5 it looks all fucked up.
grrrrrr.
i'm going to add a style sheet for the text right now.
any tips with the formatting would be REALLY appreciated.

check mail.

thanks dude...check yours. :o)

you should lose the % for table properties.
use px. could do the job.
- dconstrukt0
tomkat.
the main table is 2 rows....with the right one being the white area.
its not in %
i cant add cell spacing to the table cause the image above it will be shifted.
as far as i know i can add a table thats not as wide as the white one and place everything inside of it....or
figure out whats wrong.
the page i got the idea from is:
look how the text is padded away from the border.
any idea what the problem is?

So are you trying to get rid of that big gap to the right of the text? Try going through your code and turn on the table borders one by one until you find the table that's tweaking. Also, you should be able to control the padding on a cell by cell basis using CSS.

gabriel, thanks for the tip.
its 1 main table with 2 cells. one on the left and one on the right.
the right one is the white one with the text.
yes i'm trying to get rid of the gap but the text seems to be "squashed".... the tag doesnt seem to work......i mean it does in safari, camino and ie all on the mac....heck it works in netscape on pc.....but not i.e
look at the white main area....thats the formatting I'd like to have.
any ideas?

Try this:
go to line 21, change the width from 347 to 592
Let me know if that works for you.

Just a side note, I would look into trying to build this using just style sheets and XHTML. The layout is simple enough that you could get the whole thing working with just style sheets, plus it'd lighten up the code a ton. Email me if you have any questions about this.

dude....you rock.
it works like a charm.
now the question i have for you is where the hell did you get the # 592 from?????
- gabriel_pc0
The table that those two cells were in had a width of 731. I just subtracted the width of the first cell (139) from that.
