My DVD looks like sh*t!

I'm using (i know not the best..) iDVD to get a bunch of clips (4) on DVD.

    Tricky part...
I made a background loop (for my main screen clip selector) in After Effects, which loops perfectly, export the file in "DV/DVCPRO" codec, but when I look at that stuff on computer, it looks like crap.. all blurry and ugly.. (artefacts..)?

I tried importing a "non-compressed" loop in iDVD, but crashed during the encoding... the result was amazing..!

What sould I use to get a good result on both computer and tv as far as menus, cause the clips are really looking good?

Should I stick to the tacky theme which comes with iDVD... or obviously move to DVD Studio PRO, which I will do eventually...

I think what you might be seeing with the DV/DVCPRO codec setting is a low resolution, single field preview that QuickTime displays in order to view the material at full frame rate.

If you have QuickTime Pro, open your DV/DVCPRO compressed file in QuickTime player, get movie properties via Apple + J, select Video Track from the left pop up list, and then High Quality from the right pop up list. Then check "High Quality Enabled". This will display the file correctly, though you may have playback issues depending on your processor speed.

Well... I finally got rid of the cheap look that DV/DVCPRO gives...

From FinalCut export to quicktime uncompressed* then import the files in iDVD, the rendering time in iDVD is very long, but worth-it.

    * Quicktime no codec (none), full frame rate...

for the menu .MOV (loop 30 sec.), doing an uncompressed 640x480, everything text in there will look just fantastic...!

I'm waiting for DVD Studio Pro, which I order yesterday...

    cheers...
