ok i know client can be picky, but...
THIS is the first time ive had a client present me with their design as a photoshop doc, and tell me to build a site from that !
its fuckin terrible, and she wont sway on the design. Ive already told her that I wont be putting my/ or our office name to it
this is her layout...
http://webdev3.otago.ac.nz/~phut…i swear im gonna kik her ass ! :(
ive just had rage blasting to release some stress, helped slightly

Get shitfaced. It's the only way to get rid of any urge to be creative. Then the rest will follow.

i think it's a nice design.

i'd pay to see the look on their face....
- BonSeff0
hey - look at it this way, you client at least took the time to lay it out in photoshop! most of us should be so lucky. the client had a vision and took care to present it rather than explain it.
now your job is to appreciate the effort and be cool, but explain to the client that you understand what they want..
but HERE'S how it needs to be done...
sack up and let em know who the fancy fangled internet drawer is
- BonSeff0
what i mean to say is dont dump on the design, sit down and collaborate
- blackspade0
bonserif
totally I know that is the way i ned to look at it
but the prob is she kinda thinks she has 'the skills' as a designer even though its not her job at all
heres a couple of very quick jpegs i threw together based as closely as poss on her layout...

bons... perhaps your point would be best illustrated to her if you said "could you show me an example of two other pages of the site with lots of content in them" - and see what she comes up with. You're building a site and need more examples of why her design doesn't work (that way you're also not both just bickering over one page).
It's clear her design won't work on a content heavy design, or one where the navigation may grow/change in the future.
If she comes up with something that does work, then just go with it - at least she did all the work and you can just cut n code and get onto the next job.

Yeah, at least she didn't give you a powerpoint document or, and this is my favorite, a Quark document!
