hand-made notebooks

well I am sick of ready-made all the same journals and note-books. I think it is time to learn how to make one by yourself. I have searched google regarding this with no luck.
I know there are real print gurus in here, who must be expert on this subject. Can you advise me a path to follow, or a site whatever would be really appreciated.

Find books by Keith Smith. He is a well known book maker, and he includes many different ways to create books, with and without gluing. bookbinding is super easy, it just takes a little bit of time.

Probably not what you are looking for, but it still looks better to print a nice design, buy some water color type paper, then just take it to Kinko's to have wire bound.
I took a piece of white museum board, just a design in it, had a printed underlay, and put it together with as my cover. I liked it, much more so than any notebook/sketchbook I've bought.
And it was cheap. Probably only a few dollars more than a regular one is was much thicker.
