Hello NT'ers.
I am running OSX 10.2.6, and have no need to be able to startup using classic. Can i just bin the Classic System folder?
As in drag + drop the folder into the Trash, then 'Empty Trash'?

I don't think it would be a good idea.

Are you completely positive that all your programs will be ran in 10.2? I'm gonna wait maybe another year.
To answer your question tho, OS 10.2.6 "System" folder has everything you need to run fine. Well that and your Users folder.

why not just leave it?

My 'os9/classic' System folder [says it] is 5.58gb. I need to free up some space. So can i just dump it?

Back up the files then dump it. You can always reinstall the old system.

so, i deleted classic from my machine too.
it's easy at it is, log in as root, delete the files via trashbin. if you are not sure, make a backupcopy. you can always reinstall it via the installer cds

build,
how on earth did you get 5gig
in your system folder
:-O
It should be safe to trash it...
It would probably be safer to
do a clean install with just OSX

Thanks for the help.
I have just bought Norton Utilities, as i havn't run Speed Disk on my machine for 2 years now. It could be that it needs defragmenting.
