Does anyone know about this? I dropped a .ttf font in my mac Fonts folder and was able to use it.
I'm not a big font tech so i'm kind of confused as to why this worked.

OSX supports PC fonts, but suitcase does not. You can load them, turn them on, etc, but you can't preview them. No big deal if you know what they look like.
OpenType has had some PC problems, but its more of people not knowing how the hell to make the font right. OpenType is a crossplatform format like PDFs and JPGs etc.
