i need to change all first characters of filenames in a directory to lowercase
for some reason nero burned all my backup files with the first letter capitolized. very annoying. especially since a lot of shit is case sensitive.
anyone know how to do a batch rename...so i can do something like change all the first characters to lowercase in a dir?
thanks :)

what OS?
For Mac, the image viewing/cataloguing program iView MediaPro has a stack of batch renaming and annotating functions, so if you have that, you don't need any separate batch-rename utility programs...
On PC, I guess ACDSee must have batch renaming functions in it too?
Search on http://www.versiontracker for file renamer utilities
and then theres also scripts you can run in the Terminal on OSX...
