The tests are designed in a way to encourage you to take a MS prep course. Some of the questions are not covered well in your books, but are discussed more in a class. I just (March) put an employee through classes and testing ... itsabitch good luck. Remember you can re-take the test if you fail.

so taking classes were better? they are wicked expensive. i guess i should start saving up.

i would urge you to do some extensive research on the job market for people who have these skillsets before investing valuable time and energy in learning this material.

Really. While you're at it why not become a DBA?

Why get a certification? Are you in a position in a company that can offer you some benefits if you go for these certifications?
Are you in for the "more money to me" thing? Hope not, cause I see lots of them at the local compusa trying to break people's computer instead of fixing them.
Before you take them, make sure you read a lot about the subjects, give Mister Minasi's help section a read, it'll help you with your decision:

I'm an MCSE+I. Helped me get a job in 2000, but now, I dunno... I took a training course and breezed thru all the tests...
Check the job market for these skillz 1st.
