My marketing partner and I are looking for reliable marketing/design assistants. You must be responsible with a passion for music and can commit 20-40 hours per week. The internship is nonpaying but you'll get free cds/vinyl, free shows. etc. If you are a student we will be more than happy to fill out the required forms so you can receive credit.
You will gain complete understanding of how an online retail runs and how we market music and lifestyle brands successfully.
Duties will include:
- generating order invoices and follow up for marketing clients
- website management
- internet research/marketing
- production assistance (two print catalogs a year; various web & print design projects)
- assisting with online ticket partnersWe're a relatively small company for the amount of business we do... clients/partners include Diesel, Heavy.com, Matador Records, Warp, Island/Def Jam, etc. Laid back atmosphere, but we truly need some who we can depend on to show up, work hard and commit to this position. The more you give the more you'll get back.

sorry dude. just like you, we all have bills to pay and to live. my bills wont stop coming cause i have an internship that doesnt pay.
try a local college.
no offense, but its amazing how often in the design industry people want you to work for free.
when i was a commodity broker, they'd at least pay you a "small" amount till you got going....like $500 a week.
hmmm.......

geez from your responses you think i was begging on my hands for designers. the design work is minimal. we basically need people who are into music and want to learn about marketing.
that's all.

a lot of internships are paid these days... like minimum wage or something. a lot of college kids put themselves through school these days. working for free doesnt help the situation much. i remember my school days man. i couldnt waste a penny.
but your right.. this is not really directed towards most of the desgners here. im sure youve got some responses aleady. insound deals with great music.

You guys make it sound like an unpaid internship is unheard of. I spent years interning in recording studios and record labels (Drag City) and was never paid a dime, but received plenty of free merchandise and a lot of useful training. In addition to that, it opened up a lot of different job opportunities for me.
Besides, Insound is a well-respected company in the music industry. This shit looks great on a resume.
Heya Anna (Brandon from Palaxy Tracks here).
