I'm looking for a new I.S.P. that won't rip me off like my last one and say it'll only cost me a flat £15 a month, and then give me a 'primary' tel number to dial up to which is actually a number that costs!!! They gave me a secondary number which was the free one but was impossible to get a connection with b'cos it was so contested.
anyone got any ideas? please?
I want to (attempt) to surf using my powerbook with bluetooth to my mobile phone as I have no land line but I assume it's a basic monthly package I want from an ISP.

You should be able to get your money back on the previous ISP...did you try?
AOL has flat rate (but sucks)
Freeserve, OneTel etc all have flat rate like that... but if you have a mobile phone contract... does it (and your phone) offer GPRS? (way faster, around 28-56k).

I'd check that out first with your mobile co., be careful you dont end up paying a lot for calls even tho you're on an all in isp account, kinda like they charge you for 0800 numbers.. If so, get a free penny a minute from freeserve and use sparingly.

I've got gprs on my T610 and connecting it to the new 17" powerbook. I'll try Onetel and that other one and suss them out. Just needed some co. names is all.

I'm using Vodafone GPRS (Powerbook>Bluetooth>SonyEricsso...
Paying about £2 per MB (£1 MB if you buy data bundles), no charge for time (you can stay connected all the time, you are only charged for data throughput.

What are the choices if you are using GPRS?
So far I only know how to connect thru Vodafones own GPRS service, and I assumed that due to the nature of GPRS, you had to go through your phone provider... Is this right, or can I use GPRS from another company? (would like to get a lower data price)
(I use Freeserve for GSM dta when GPRS isnt available..but 9.6k ugh)
