anyone use a tablet pc for design? Im thinking of getting myself a laptop and have neglected looking at tablet pc's.
speeds of 800 mhz? -Fireworks runs slow at twice the speed on my intel p4. I know theyre all centrino and what not but those clock speeds are really low!
Im looking at the Travelmate 102TCi,
any thoughts? tips?

I had a tablet pc to test here and although it looked the dogs b's it didn't really have much else that swung it for me.
Alot of money for (at the moment) an underpower laptop.
If you want to be able to draw on a screen get a pda, if you want the power of a laptop...get a laptop. I spent less on a new laptop then a respectable tablet and got twice as much power/features.
Just an opinion of course

true... but i'd just like sopmething that i can sit on the sofa with, a laptop tend to make you crunch over it... I also like the idea of the stylus, and want ot start doig a bit more illustration work... and use it like a sketch pad

think the one i tested was an acer.
wasn't too impressed with the dpi of the stylus.
great for airbrushing but fine pencil work was a bit pixelly

These people built their first prototype in a secondfloor loft and then had a bitch of a time trying to get it out.
