When was the last time your computer crashed in OS X?
What computer are you using?
By crash, I mean the system freezes, bombs, whatever you want to call it - making you restart.
I've had my 17" Powerbook for two months and counting with no crashes.

since os-x.2 (jaguar)..
zero system crashes.
but a few frozen apps here and there tho..

had Jag installed the day it was released- ZERO crashes in over a year. I leave my system on fulltime and only reboot after a heavy install or shut down if I am away for days. The only crashing aps have been Internet Explorer (use to crash here actually) and illustrator.

Never.
a few apps hang every once and a while.
I kill em, restart em and they're fine.

G4 867: since 10.2... not a single crash. solid as a rock.
I also used to have a B&W G3 that I used as a music server... that never crashed either (kinda sluggish, though)
Occasional application crash, but that's rare, and never requires resarting the system.

I never had it crash but ie always quites on me saying it had a memorty problem.
Probally because I am running jag on an original imac dv
Oh and just yesterday ran into a weird one. I have like 2 gigs left on my machine but all of a sudden it said I had 200mb and after I restarted it say I had the right amount of space but all my settings in the dock were set back to default and all the apps were removed from it.

Maybe one or two in the past 8 months.

I installed the X beta when it was first released --- March of 2000 if I recall ... and since then I have had 1 system crash. Upgrades have been seamless. I am running a G4 dual500 with 768M ram.

have OSx and WIN2k - neither crash often BUT as many people are also saying here OSX and application freezes are common for me. Whereas on the PC I can't remember the last time it happened. I'd love to love the Mac and it's OS - I really would, but sadly from a productivity point of view I spend more time, updating, fixing, tweaking and wondering about the Mac than I do working with it.

will repair! thanks for the hint!

3 or 4 times in the last year, I think iTunes was the most recent culprit, tried to force quit it and that didn't work, tried again and it brought everything down.
In OS9 it would be 1-2 times a day, sometimes more if I was unlucky. OSX is so good after that.

os9 the first month or 2 it didnt crash at all for me, but now its once every 2 days or something. :
10.1 crashed once or twice in the month that i used it. might install jag this weekend..

It used to freeze constantly and take 35 minutes to start up. took me ages to work out it was cos I was on a cube. since I switched to a non-cube g4 it's been fine.
