its a training tool for your wrist/arm/shoulder.
lots of computerworking people use it here (germany).

i've used it... takes a few tries to get it to work right, but when you do, it's amazing!

it's hard to explain becuase when you hold it and use it you realize what a work of science it is...
but there is some sort of swiveling component insite the ball that when you get it spinning correctly, creates an powerful resistance that in turn builds strength in your wrist and forearm as you try to hold it.
really tough to explain.

well..in short..and bad english:
you hold in your hand n' move it in small circles. it builds up force that you have to react to. it feels a bit like someones pulling your arm.
?clear?
it's really great - takes much more power to hold it than you'd expect.
