So I do a bunch of CD design work, got text for a layout today that says at the bottom (cutting and pasting, sorry for the caps) --- anyone seen this before?
"THIS CD IS EQUIPPED WITH XCP COPY-PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY PREVENTING THE DOWNLOADING OR BURNING OF THE MUSIC CONTAINED. IT IS DESIGNED TO PLAY IN STANDARD AUDIO CD PLAYERS. IT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR PLAY IN COMPUTERS. PLAYBACK PROBLEMS MAY ALSO BE EXPERIENCED WITH CAR STEREOS, DVD PLAYERS AND
GAME CONSOLES."

I've heard of it. But I never buy cd's from record labels that can afford to do that.
Who's the client? Must be big.

It's a small indie label and a soundtrack release --- I would guess will sell less only 20-40 thousand copies, which I one of the reasons I found it curious. And this is on the PROMO cd (going to radio and reviewers).
