marriage is no guarantee. You should still act like a fool to impress girls. married or not.

Quit being such a downer.
Do some jumping-jacks.
Travel.
Eat something really gross.
Have a litter of children.
- loudubs0
hah, a litter of children....how about a liter of liquid LSD.
- snocat0
children is out of the question, we can't even take care of ourself correctly...

man, do yourself a favour and discust your marriage with your wife...

This is absolutely the reason why I don't have a girlfriend - having no need to impress completely dulls creativity.
Yes, yes.. that's the reason...

Take on a whole new image.
Go for the "Vato" thang. You guys could pretend you're a struggling gang affiliated couple living in the barrio.
Buy a 62 impala, steal some 13" daytons, and juice that whooride. Cruise through your hood, bumping fresh mariachi beats, from your six 15" subs.

I dont think anyone here is trying to be Einstein so y bother worring about this. This article is another futile attempt to find an excuse for someones lack of personal fulfillment. If you feel that your spouse is holing you back then be a man or woman and get the balls to tell them. Otherwise its your fault that your being held back.
I'm married and if I NEED to work I let her know. Sometimes it bites me in the ass and sometimes I feel guilty ut I need to tell her or I'm the jack ass. If I need to fulfill a goal, then I tell her the goal and the time frame. And if it is really holding me farther back and if I feel I have to get out of it, well again its on me not some bullshit article.
my 2 cents.

that sounds great Gorbie...than I could go back to school and take up Medieval Studies.

Can anyone justify the need of impression to boost creativity?
I mean, does a true artist/designer draw/create because the need to impress someone? Or does it really comes from your heart and the need for being creativity?
Are there any famous creative person whom was married and still makes his mark in the world?

william s. burroughs......woops, he killed his wife

"Can anyone justify the need of impression to boost creativity?"
some people get off on seeing how people react to their art. Not all or even most i think, but some.

Stephen Powersthe list is really endless.

machito,
thank you for your advice, yes it really is up to me but i m trying to get both marriage and creativity to work at the same time for maybe 1-2 year on-and-off, but really, my motivation and inspiration wasn't like before when i was single..
im just searching for justification and reasoning in making both to work - a reason for me to live on and keep fighting...
those designers out there, besides work related, do you create because the need to impress?
- machito0
Snocat I won't pretend to know what your going through, but I went through something similar when I was single oddly enough. And it took some time and sould searching to figure out. After I did thats when I started dating my now wife more seriously and started out with some kind of life plan as oppose to floating about. I guess what I want to say is that you need some time and space to figure out what you are lacking. And when you figure it out you have to act on it.
Talk to your wife man, if marriage is anything its about these moments in life, and if you feel that she isn't or can't help wel then I guess you have to make a few hard decissions.
good luck.

It is true. I am married too. I even have an one year daughter. http://www.olbindesign.com/alexi… I enjoy my married life though.
Creativity suffers in way that one starts to think more how to put the food on the table more rather than be highly creative.
In my case sleep deprivation is the biggest enemy. Haven't had a good all night sleep for year now.

I'm with plamenski, that does happen.. but being crazy as I am I try to make an environment to exist and an environment to create.
