i'm making a book cover and the client wants me to zoom in on one kid, and fill the page with the kid's image.
but it's the largest i can get him without losing quality.is there a way to enlarge a picture without losing quality? is it how you set it up for print?
the guy said he had it done before.
this is it in pdf form...

i don't know if that made sense...
all i need to do is take one of those kids, and fill up most of the page with him.
it's at 300 dpi right now.
any way to enlarge, without losing quality?

he told me he had a banner made 9 feet by 20 feet, and the photo on their looked crisp.
i asked if there were dots close up, and he said it looked like a photo.
is that possible?am i missing something??

the text is all vector, so yea. you can blow it up as big as you want.
only problem might come up on the background which is raster already. however, since the bg isnt terribly prominent, you might can get away with just having the text clean. though it wouldnt be too hard to recreate that bg in vector.
most prontshops these days will take a pdf no prb.

oh. i didnt scroll down for the kids.
that might be a problem depending on how big he wants it.
300dpi at actual size is usually overkill for larger graphics. you can get good quality at 150dpi (actual print size) hell, ive even gone so far as 125 when i had to, but i wouldnt go any lower than that if you still want it to look good close up.

so, for just a 8.5" x 11"
how low can i go?
is it possible to make one of those kids fill up most of the page?

try Genuine Fractals
http://www.lizardtech.com/soluti…
it's a photoshop pulgin that allows you to blowup images without losing(much)resolution. It can be a life saver.

import it in flash and export as image with highest possible size which is 7998 or something like that, then enhance that shit in pshop
