Can you move multiple layers at the same time with in the layers palette?
- pand40
you may have to elaborate... you can move linked layers together

there is a way. someone just asked the asked this question, but i dont recall how.
but for one thing, you can stick those layers in a folder and just move the folder.
i dont remember the answer that was given before though. did a quick search of PVAN but didnt find anything right off.
folders will work though.

i'm all about sets in photoshop.

i think the folder option is the only way. to put multiple things in one folder just select a layer, link the other layers you want in the folder then go to the options in the layer palette then select the New Set from Linked or something like that.

Do you mean to arrange them within the pallette or to move them within the composition?
If the latter, link the layers and move to your heart's content.

actually, he's my co-worker and we're trying to figure out if you can move multiple layers at the same time within the layers palette...within a layer set. Meaning the order of the layers.
i dropped like four layers into a layer set that already contained like 50 layers and when you do that...the new layers go straight to the bottom of that set.
I want them at the top, but don't feel like dragging each one all the way up through 50 layers...
Make sense?

well, instead of dragging, you can use the shortcut.
Ctrl + Shift + ]
which will take it to the absolute top of the setor
Ctrl + ]
which will move the selected layer up one layer.(naturally we substitue Ctrl for Apple/Command when on a MAC)
shortcuts make me hot. =)

that'll make life easier.

I think 8 should have folders within folders. Whats the big deal?
I also would find a Layer Info Area very useful. Perhaps somewhere in the Layer Properties Menu window. Something to list what special effects had been done or anything relevant that may need to be remembered.

when is 8?
sometime after august or something?what new about it?
- dopepope0
8 is supposed to have filter layers. That's so necessary for me. As far as I know that's all thats good really. The liquify filter needs fixing too. It should be out by the end of the summer.
- bug0
filter layers, huh...
cool.do you liquify a lot?
i mighta touched it twice...
- dopepope0
I do tons of digital photo retouching. I liquify all the time. Before photoshop had Liquify we used a plug in called 'Squizz.' Liquify is an awesome filter. Just needs a bit of improvement. That, filter layers, and folders within folders would be lovely.
